Kevin Dawson has been serving as a missionary and teacher in the Dominican Republic since 2020. He moved to the nation in faith at the start of a global pandemic on a mission to reach and disciple students and leaders in a multicultural environment.
Kevin grew up in Springfield, Missouri, with both parents actively involved in children's ministry. He began working in their ministry as traveling children's evangelists as "Bobo the Bear" and a puppeteer when he was 10 years old. From the time he was 12 until 19, he worked every Sunday in a children's ministry program at a local church.
He graduated from Central Bible College in 1998 with a double major in youth ministry and Bible, then from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary in 2005. He is currently completing a Doctor of Ministry program with Global University.
Since 1995, Kevin has been involved in ministry to teenagers, including middle school, high school, and college-age students. In addition to serving as a youth pastor and teacher in Christian schools, he has also served in ministry to adults as a pastor and teacher in ministry schools.Â
As a missionary, Kevin has served on and led short-term missions teams around the globe to places like Nicaragua, Mexico, Haiti, China, the Philippines, and India. In 2020, he accepted the assignment from God to serve the people of the Dominican Republic and has teamed with Pastor Stanley Philippe and the ICM community to impact the city of Santiago.
